Message From The Founder

As the descendant of many generations of academics, education has always been important to me. In 2015, I began tutoring the sciences and maths to children from the age of 4, all the way up to adults who needed the extra support during their degrees.

Although it started off as a means of income, I developed a passion for converting what seemed like challenging concepts for students, to simple, fascinating, and applicable topics that they could use in their everyday lives. As a tutor, exam time was extremely nerve-racking, as I would often worry about all my students, however, the highly rewarding feeling when my students achieved grades which were previously unimaginable to them was incredible.

The Covid-19 pandemic saw a great increase in the demand for online tutoring in countries all over the world. Motivated to support the education industry here in Ghana, I noticed a gap in the market for an online tutoring service, and immediately started to develop a unique tutoring experience that hopes to benefit thousands in Ghana and beyond.

VirTutor Online aims to be West Africa’s leading online tutoring company, where users can find a tutor, book a lesson, pay for it, and have the lesson – all on our website. A unique aspect of VirTutor Online is that these lessons can take place from anywhere in the world, and tutors do not require a degree in education to use the site. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for their subjects and most importantly, helping others.

As this is a major project for the team and I, we are working constantly to improve the user experience, therefore, any feedback on the site would be much appreciated. This has been a challenging yet rewarding project as the potential for it to have a positive impact on many remains great.

Message From The Founder

With several years of experience in marketing management and customer engagement, Sarah has a track record of effective communication and excellent lead-generation skills. Her role is to create awareness for VirTutor Online and develop marketing strategies that engage our target audience and ultimately lead them to sign up.

Sarah has a passion for content marketing and works on our social media platforms to advertise our services and benefits to students, parents and tutors. Her leadership roles over the years have given her the ability to identify great qualities in people. This is why she is in charge of tutor recruitment, and oversees the pre-screening process for tutors that sign up.

We are confident that Sarah is a great addition to the VirTutor Online team, as she has been a volunteer tutor herself and also has a passion for helping people. Her global perspective combined with local insights into Ghanaian culture make her the perfect fit for this position and we are proud to have her on board.
